While it may be tempting to stay bundled up indoors sipping hot chocolate by the fireplace this winter, you’ll be missing out on all of the fun the snowy season has to offer. So throw on a scarf, lace up those boots and head outdoors to make the most of the snow globe we call home. Here are just a few of our favorite wintertime festivals happening throughout Michiana:

Most of the time fire and ice don’t mix. But that won’t be the case during the 12th Annual Magical Ice Fest when these elements come together to create a breathtaking display for visitors. Guests can watch in amazement as professional carvers turn blocks of ice into frozen masterpieces and put their skills to the test in a head-to-head carving challenge.
Other frosty fun activities throughout the weekend include the third annual Ice Fest 5K Chocolate Run/Walk, Fire and Ice Party at Shadowland on Silver Beach, Snow Biz Scavenger Hunt and mystifying fun with magician John Dudley.
